GroBucket is an insert that turns a 5-gallon bucket into a self-watering container garden. This size container is ideal for growing any garden vegetable or herb, but it can be used to grow so much more. It sets up in minutes and requires very little skill. The one gallon reservoir is accessed by a fill tube that extends to the top of the bucket to allow the reservoir to be topped off directly. A water level indicator lets you know when to water. An overflow hole is drilled into the bucket so a that excess water can exit in case of rain or over filling. You can’t over water! The design of our insert waters the soil from the bottom which is the ideal way to water. Water wicks up into the soil so that the soil stays at the optimal moisture level, even on hot summer days! If you need to go away for a couple of day, simply saturate the soil with water and top of the reservoir, no more coming home to dead plants. GroBucket are portable allowing the garden to change with the season. Bring them in if there is an early frost and extend your growing season. As the sun moves so can your garden! A small folding dolly makes quick work of moving the GroBucket systems. This system is low maintenance and when not in use stacks up for compact storage. Our Water Level Indicator Tells You When to Water.
Watering issues are one of the most common pitfalls of beginner and intermediate gardeners. Overwatering or underwatering can result in dead, dying, or stressed-out plants. With the GroBucket water-level indicator, you always know when it’s time to water. Our patent pending insert is designed so that the soil always stays at the optimal moisture level. All you have to do is add water when needed. Our optional irrigation system, you can preserve the use of water altogether.
Clever Features
When you see our black plastic funnel hanging over the edge of a bucket, you know it’s a GroBucket. Sure it helps guide water down the fill tube when watering, but it also has mesh to keep insects and debris out, it guides our water-level indicator, holds the fill tube to the side of the bucket, and has a large label that’s at the optimal angle to read while standing.
Low Maintenance & Convenience
Once you have the GroBucket, everything else you need can be found at your local home improvement store. Standard tomato cages and stakes work well in our system. Pick up some potting soil and mulch. Now pick out some plants. Uh oh! So many choices how will you decide? Oh well, just order some more GroBuckets and enjoy. Once your GroBucket is setup, monitor the water level and fertilize when needed. That’s it!
